Training and services

In addition to the Samopomoch program, we organized several training events for Ukrainian mental health professionals on war-related trauma in Lithuania.

On September 6-10, 2022, a group of one hundred and fifty Ukrainian mental health professionals were brought to Vilnius by bus from Ukraine. They first participated in a two-day training on war-related trauma by psychotrauma experts from Tbilisi (Georgia), and subsequently attended the conference Rethinking Mental Health Care organized by FGIP in Vilnius (www.rethinkingmnh.org).

In March 2023, a new group of fifty mental health professionals were brought from Ukraine, and were trained in dealing with war-related trauma for internally displaced people (IDP). In June 2023, the same group with be trained in dealing with grief and mourning. Further trainings are planned for later in 2023.

The total cost of this program was 99.737 euro (= $ 106,797)

Help us help our Ukrainian colleagues!

FGIP has been working in Ukraine for more than thirty years and has a huge community of friends and colleagues there. FGIP is doing everything possible  to help them during these difficult times. We have started a large-scale psychological aid program for the victims of this military conflict. A new self-help program was been set up in Ukrainian that provides resources to mental health professionals and helps the general population to deal with the psychological consequences of this war.
